Cemetery and Burial Index

In 1975 the SGS began locating and recording cemeteries and private burial sites in Saskatchewan.  To date 3,423 have been located, and 2,410 recorded.  The recorded cemeteries provide about 440,000 burial records and of these about 133,000 have been indexed and will be included on this web site.   This is an ongoing project.  It will be updated as data is ready.

 

We wish to thank the SGS Branch volunteers and individuals who have spent hundreds of hours gathering this information.  We wish to thank the Cemetery Coordinators and volunteers at the SGS Library and Research Room for collation and processing the information.  We wish to thank our database coordinator for extracting and compiling this index.  We also extend a special thank you to the Rural Municipality administrations, communities, private cemetery owners, and all others who have allowed us access to their information.
