CUMMINS RURAL DIRECTORY MAPS
Cummins Rural directory was produced for Saskatchewan for 1917, 1920, 1922, 1926
(east of 3rd Meridian) and 1930 (north of Township 21).
The maps show the names of the rural landowners and the location of the hamlets,
villages, towns and railroads. The
small numbers under the name indicates the post office used by the landowner. Some maps show the location of local
schools. These maps are particularly
useful to the genealogist because they show how much land their ancestor may have
added to the initial holdings. They
also indicate if the original homesteader still owned the land when maps were drawn. These flat maps should be used in conjunction
with topographical maps to understand why your ancestors conducted their business
where they did.
